The assembled masses at Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal

It was a dark and snowy morning on Bainbridge Island.  At the same time, in warm and balmy LA, the kids were getting an early start, flying off to Seattle via a plane transfer in Las Vegas from whence they had just come. Don’t ask. Despite all the odds, they seemed to be  doing fine, or so I was updated from headquarters in Portland over my cracking cell line. Meanwhile, I was spinning my wheels, right into a snow bank along my driveway.  I politely abandoned the car, sloshed out to the street and hitched a ride to the ferry terminal, raced to the baggage claim at SEATAC just in time to greet the kids as their baggage chose to appear at its own, leisurely pace…all of which was well-timed to sync with our not-so-waiting bus. Eventually, made it back onto the ferry (a good thing they go back and forth ad infinitum) and into the waiting arms of the mostly assembled and beaming families.  Quite a start to a busy week.
